New Year’s Eve offers Jannica one last adventure before the year ends, but her plans are complicated by the trauma unit’s demanding new surgeon, Eero Mustonen (Johannes Holopainen).

The group includes Danish actress Tessa Hoder, who appeared in Magnus von Horn’s Cannes 2024 Competition entry The Girl With The Needle. Hoder has studied at the William Esper studio in New York and Iceland’s Lunga school, and has credits in Netflix series Rita and Danish shows including Those Who Kill.

European streaming service SkyShowtime has revealed the cast and the first look images for its upcoming Swedish six-part original series Where the Sun Always Shines, shot on location in Mallorca and premiering exclusively on SkyShowtime on Nov. 10.
The show, created by director, writer and actor Felix Herngren, stars Claes Månsson, Suzanne Reuter and August Wittgenstein. They will join previously announced Erik “Jerka” Johansson, Rakel Wärmländer, Per Lasson and Lisa Linnertorp in the dark comedy-drama’s ensemble, alongside Sofia Ledarp, Peter Magnusson, Ibrahim Faal, Inger Nilsson, David Batra, Christopher Wollter, Elvin Philipson, Iris Herngren, Elis Gerdt and Wojtek Goral.
The eight-part series GUTS, commissioned by Finnish pubcaster Yle, is produced by Just Republic, co-headed by producer Sasu Norhomaa and screenwriter Jemina Jokisalo.
GUTS is a dark, psychological drama thriller about women’s elite skiing team and the price of dreams. When one of the skiers, ADA, 28, vanishes to thin air just before a race, the team’s formidable queen MARIA, 28, is lost without her counterpart. ANNA, 30, an eternal underdog, knows her time has come. She will take Ada’s place, and finally rise among the stars. Anna’s relentless pursuit for success leads her down a path that strains relationships and tests her morality, while Maria’s unshakable confidence begins to waver. As training sessions blend with personal struggles, GUTS paints a poignant portrait of dreams, sacrifice, and the complexities of ambition.
Toplining the cast as the two top female athletes waging a battle of the minds are Roosa Söderholm (Baby Jane, They Have Escaped), and Sannah Nedergård (Codename-Annika, Sandhamm Murders).
Akseli Tuomivaara (The Paradise, Next of Kin) and Petra Lumioksa (The Short Fuse) are sharing the directing.

Collaborating with Maja Salomonsson, who also directs, the play is brought to life with a unique blend of creativity and authenticity. Paloma’s background, rooted in the arts, gives the play its rich emotional depth. Educated at the Universidad de las Artes ISA in Havana, she brings a wealth of experience as an actor and performing artist, having worked with prestigious institutions such as Dramaten, Unga Klara, and Assemblea Teatro in Italy.
Lunita Lunita marks a special moment in Paloma’s artistic journey, as it brings her back to Skärholmen—the place of her childhood. This stage, now a platform for her debut, holds a deep personal connection, making the performance even more poignant.
